Is Shoveling Snow A Workout? | Mr. Fit | with Mark A. Cinelli | Boston Herald

Harvey threw off a mound last fall, took a break, then resumed in December in Newport Beach, California, at the training facility of his agent, Scott Boras. Harvey threw fastballs and changeups in bullpen sessions and some curveballs off flat ground. I threw two bullpens out there and I let a few go just to see where Im at, and I was pretty surprised with the outcome and how good things feel, Harvey said. Im pretty on-point with my accuracy right now, which is surprising. The Dark Knight returnsto Port St. Lucie!

City Running Tours offers group runs for $30 to $40 that take runners everywhere from Central Park to the Golden Gate Bridge (though not on the same run). Runners who want to hit the pavement with locals but avoid the cost can also find a local running group. These groups, which are sometimes organized by running shoe stores or on websites like Meetup.com, may not plan their runs around sightseeing, but they will let travelers run safely and without getting lost. Running tours add a workout to city sightseeing

Not to worry as you can count snow shoveling and snow blowing as a workout. Shoveling snow will work your upper body (chest, shoulders, arms, and back), lower body (quads, hamstrings and glutes), and its a no brainer that your core will be engaged. Furthermore, you'll also get the benefits of cardiovascular training. Do please review my previous post on shoveling tips (and circuit training) as there are some risks involved with shoveling snow.
